I had some issues for a while but yeah it does work. I think it fixed itself after I downloaded some experimental patches in the Sigpatches thread. I installed a bunch of NSPs with it while on 19.0.0, so there's no doubt that it works.

The problem is the forwarder. Don't use the auto installer version. Use the normal nro version instead, that should work.

Install or replace the Tinfoil Self Installer with Tinfoil Applet Mode.
Then, download the new Tinfoil forwarder (File: Tinfoil by NX-Venom.nsp) that is compatible with the latest Atmosphère 1.8.0 and HOS FW 19.

Then run it through HB Menu until a new official version of Tinfoil is out

Or just use DBI Installer, which is both easier and superior in every way imaginable. I don't even think you have to update DBI with new firmwares, I haven't in nearly 2 years.

Any links or docs to help on installing this? I have a 10 gig backup of a game I used to play (and own) but want to get it back on the switch. But my switch is fat32 which has a 4 gig file transfer limit. Trying to find a way to install it on my Switch without having to format my SD Card - I'm not good enough at all that to risk losing it all. And if this DBI thing works with games without always having to update Hekata, Sig Patches, TF, and all that - thats a huge plus! Any help is appreciated. would like to look into this way.

https://www.gamebrew.org/wiki/DBI_Switch
After you unzip transfer the dbi.nro put in Switch folder along with dbi.config, you'll run the .exe from your computer. Put the type-c cord in your Switch and your computer, run dbi from homebrew menu on Switch, in your computer run dbibackend.exe and choose install title from usb, select the game(s) you want and install.
p.s. I did not say you don't have to updated hekate, patches etc.... you always do, I said you don't have to update dbiinstaller itself like you are tinfoil every firmware, at least I haven't but that's always subject to change because Nintendo knows how to break homebrew with updates a lot. You assumed a lot when I said you literally you don't have to update dbiinstaller, not those other things.

A lot of people use (free) shops on Tinfoil, that's why is still being used tbh.
DBI is amazing for local and wireless installations actually, and if it wasn't for the shops, nobody would use Tinfoil I guess.

Fair enough, that's a legit reason.

Sorry, I jumped to conclusions without reading clearly there. Will bookmark this for future reference, but got the files dropped, the exe running, and the game installing. Thank you so much for taking the time to explain it. Sometimes this stuff is over my head, but you made it simple. I (and my son) thank you! Have a great day

It does work. you will need to download the applet version. To run it hold R while booting up a game to boot into HB laucher. open the app that way. That is the only way i am getting it to work on 19.0.0 until a newer version comes out

19.0.0 has just been barely supported in the CFW area. almost everything is still in beta testing
